My point is that I as a user do not find any icon in the tray to bring
up a network connection.  I need to admit I'm not an lxde user and
install these machines for others (who also have no Linux experience).
I know network-manager and once the app is started I can easily bring
up the network.

So please change my bug report into:  No idea how to configure network
easily after fresh lxde install.

Yes, that's clear.  However, I guess also the lxde metapackage is
involved here.
