The problem is that that repo is not upstream as far as the bluez-firmware package is concerned. The fix is included in version 1.2-4+rpt8 and that suffix is crucial; I guess it stands for Raspberry Pi Trading (iow: RPi Foundation) and is only distributed through the http://archive.raspberrypi.org repo. What should happen is that RPF/RPT upstreams their fixes to the 'real' bluez- firmware upstream repo and then Debian (and the rest of the 'world') would get them with a 'new upstream release'.
