The error still occurs. > If I do this on my boxes, this error does not occur. It only occurred > once when upgrading from the old crystalcursors to the current version. I have tihs error on two machines, both running fully modular xorg from debian. > And the only mayor change I've made is to move the install location from > /usr/X11R6/libs/X11/icons to /usr/share/icons (which is the new default > after the upgrade to Xorg 7). I know about the new locations - I am maintaining a similar package not yet transitioned to xorg7 (comixcursors) > Since update-alternatives for x-cursor-theme is currently broken (You > can chose one but it does not actually *become* the default icon until > you create a symlink: > > /usr/share/icons/default -> /usr/share/icons/yourfavtheme You need to either depend on a package providing /usr/share/icons/default or provide it yourself. In the xorg6.9 days, gtk2-themes-industrial, which also supplies a cursor theme, provided the default dir, because it uses the alternatives for that dir. In the xorg6.9 days, crystalcursors started to depend on xlibs-data because of the need for the default dir in that location. > I strongly believe your reported bug belongs to dpkg (which includes > update-alternatives). But I'm open to suggestions. update-alternatives only manages symlinks. It does not manage directories. > Since crystalcursors was usable on my boxes after the error your report > refers to, I downgrade the bug to "normal". Leaving apt without being able to finish is not 'normal' - sorry - even if the package "works" afterwards. > Best Regards, /Sune
