My rationale is that krb5 has a fairly complex configure script and is fairly sensitive to what is installed on the build host. I cannot imagine any issues, but I don't want to take the time to test thoroughly enough during a freeze. In my mind doing a diff of the resulting config.logs would be sufficient testing for me to feel comfortable; it's fine if you'd go with a different level of testing.
