Description : Cross-platform GUI code editor

CudaText is a cross-platform text editor, written in Lazarus. It is open source
project and can be used free of charge, even for business. It starts quite
fast: ~0.3 sec with ~30 plugins, on Linux on CPU Intel Core i3 3Hz. It is
extensible by Python add-ons: plugins, linters, code tree parsers, external
tools. Syntax parser is feature-rich, based on EControl engine (though not as
fast as in some competitors).

- why is this package useful/relevant?
It is cross-platform and FOSS code editor. Analog to Sublime Text (which is not
free). Has advantages over Sublime.
It has active Linux users.

no.

- do you use it?
yes.

- if there are other packages providing similar functionality, how does it
compare?

Geany, Kate editor. Both are having much less features. Both don't support same
OS range: Linux, Windows, *BSD, macOS.

I want to help with this.
