Hello Michael, thank you very much for both the issue and the patch;
I would prefer to postpone its integration to LTSP until its next version in a few months, for the following reasons:
* We released LTSP 21.01 a couple of days ago, in time for bullseye. It would be time-saving to apply the patch in the next release. * LTSP is used for netbooting various distributions and versions. So one can e.g. netboot debian-stretch.iso from a bullseye server; in that case, the patch would break their DNS there. So it's best to be as backwards-compatible as possible. * So, if it doesn't cause any ill effects, I would like to push a patch that makes LTSP use resolvectl but fall back to systemd-resolve, in a few months, when the next LTSP version will be released. I also reported this upstream in https://github.com/ltsp/ltsp/issues/367. Thanks again!
