Package: autofs Version: 4.1.4-9 Followup-For: Bug #349073
Heres another classical case: I accessed /root/remux/archive, a symlink to /fs/doom/var/lib/mythtv/archive/, where fs is my automount-mountpoint. This worked fine, but after doing somethign else for about 10 minutes, I can no longer access it: cerebro ~/remux# cd archive bash: cd: archive: No such file or directory cerebro ~/remux# ls -ld /fs/doom/var/lib/mythtv/archive ls: /fs/doom/var/lib/mythtv/archive: No such file or directory syslog for this incident: Apr 16 21:54:44 cerebro automount[11690]: rm_unwanted: /fs/doom_localvol4 Apr 16 21:54:44 cerebro automount[11690]: expired /fs/doom_localvol4 Apr 16 21:54:44 cerebro automount[11692]: rm_unwanted: /fs/doom Apr 16 21:54:44 cerebro automount[11692]: expired /fs/doom Apr 16 22:23:01 cerebro -- MARK -- Apr 16 22:43:01 cerebro -- MARK -- Apr 16 22:47:35 cerebro automount[272]: attempting to mount entry /fs/doom/var Apr 16 22:47:35 cerebro automount[12212]: failed to mount /fs/doom/var Apr 16 22:47:36 cerebro automount[12212]: umount_multi: no mounts found under /fs/doom/var debug-log: Apr 16 22:47:26 cerebro automount[12208]: expire_proc: 2 remaining in /fs Apr 16 22:47:26 cerebro automount[272]: expire_proc: exp_proc=12208 Apr 16 22:47:26 cerebro automount[272]: handle_child: got pid 12208, sig 0 (0), stat 1 Apr 16 22:47:26 cerebro automount[272]: sigchld: exp 12208 finished, switching from 2 to 1 Apr 16 22:47:26 cerebro automount[272]: get_pkt: state 2, next 1 Apr 16 22:47:26 cerebro automount[272]: st_ready(): state = 2 Apr 16 22:47:34 cerebro automount[272]: sig 14 switching from 1 to 2 Apr 16 22:47:34 cerebro automount[272]: get_pkt: state 1, next 2 Apr 16 22:47:34 cerebro automount[272]: st_expire(): state = 1 Apr 16 22:47:34 cerebro automount[12210]: expire_proc: 2 remaining in /fs Apr 16 22:47:34 cerebro automount[272]: expire_proc: exp_proc=12210 Apr 16 22:47:34 cerebro automount[272]: handle_child: got pid 12210, sig 0 (0), stat 1 Apr 16 22:47:34 cerebro automount[272]: sigchld: exp 12210 finished, switching from 2 to 1 Apr 16 22:47:34 cerebro automount[272]: get_pkt: state 2, next 1 Apr 16 22:47:34 cerebro automount[272]: st_ready(): state = 2 Apr 16 22:47:35 cerebro automount[272]: handle_packet: type = 0 Apr 16 22:47:35 cerebro automount[272]: handle_packet_missing: token 27, name doom/var Apr 16 22:47:36 cerebro automount[12212]: umount_multi: path=/fs/doom/var incl=1 Apr 16 22:47:36 cerebro automount[272]: handle_child: got pid 12212, sig 0 (0), stat 1 Apr 16 22:47:36 cerebro automount[272]: sig_child: found pending iop pid 12212: signalled 0 (sig 0), exit status 1 Apr 16 22:47:36 cerebro automount[272]: send_fail: token=27 Apr 16 22:47:42 cerebro automount[272]: sig 14 switching from 1 to 2 Apr 16 22:47:42 cerebro automount[272]: get_pkt: state 1, next 2 Apr 16 22:47:42 cerebro automount[272]: st_expire(): state = 1 Apr 16 22:47:42 cerebro automount[12213]: expire_proc: 2 remaining in /fs Apr 16 22:47:42 cerebro automount[272]: expire_proc: exp_proc=12213 Apr 16 22:47:42 cerebro automount[272]: handle_child: got pid 12213, sig 0 (0), stat 1 Apr 16 22:47:42 cerebro automount[272]: sigchld: exp 12213 finished, switching from 2 to 1 Apr 16 22:47:42 cerebro automount[272]: get_pkt: state 2, next 1 That it talks about /fs/doom/var is a bit confusing to me, but I have no idea how automount works, internally, but it should only be concerned about /fs/doom # cd /fs # ls -la total 0 drwxr-xr-x 4 root root 0 Apr 16 21:54 . drwxr-xr-x 34 root root 488 Apr 12 17:45 .. dr-xr-xr-x 2 root root 0 Apr 16 21:54 doom dr-xr-xr-x 2 root root 0 Apr 16 21:54 doom_localvol4 lr-xr-xr-x 1 root root 11 Apr 16 18:45 exg -> /fs/wd/exg/ lr-xr-xr-x 1 root root 3 Apr 16 18:31 wd -> /wd # cd doom # ls ls: .: No such file or directory [Exit 2] # mount /dev/sda2 on / type xfs (rw,nodiratime) /dev/mapper/3ware-localvol on /localvol type ext3 (rw,nodiratime) none on /dev/shm type tmpfs (rw,size=128M,mode=1777) none on /proc/bus/usb type usbfs (rw) automount(pid272) on /fs type autofs (rw,fd=4,pgrp=272,minproto=2,maxproto=4) /dev/loop7 on /wd type reiserfs (rw,noatime,nodiratime,data=writeback) -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Kernel: Linux 2.6.15.1 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Versions of packages autofs depends on: hi libc6 2.3.5-12 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii ucf 2.006 Update Configuration File: preserv Versions of packages autofs recommends: ii nfs-common 1:1.0.7-3 NFS support files common to client -- debconf information: autofs/upgrade-from-broken-version: -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
