Package: nvidia-glx
Version: 1.0.8756-4
Severity: normal

After upgrading from 8178, X won't access any higher-resolution modes, and
in lower modes, only slowest refresh rates can be set. However, adding:

        Option "UseEDID" "0"

to Section "Device" in xorg.conf fixes the problem.

Stand-alone read-edid says:

        # EDID version 1 revision 1
Section "Monitor"
        # Block type: 2:0 3:fd
        Identifier "CTX:9176"
        VendorName "CTX"
        ModelName "CTX:9176"
        # Block type: 2:0 3:fd
        HorizSync 30-70
        VertRefresh 50-160
[...]

so the monitor returns correct data (and indeed, the nvidia driver read it
fine in 8178 and earlier versions).
