Upstream bug https://github.com/libproxy/libproxy/issues/68 says libproxy is not currently thread-safe. Fedora uses, or has used, https://github.com/libproxy/libproxy/pull/128 to avoid numerous thread-related crashes; the author of the latest version sent upstream recommended that we consider it for Debian too. smcv
