Package: blender Version: 2.41-1 Severity: normal 3ds file import script is broken. When importing a 3ds file, you will get an error message on the console and nothing will be loaded into blender. I tried importing many 3ds models and always get the same error except for the value of the object. IIRC, I didn't have a problem importing 3ds files in blender 2.40. Here is the error message:
