Package: ntpdate
Version: 1:4.2.0a+stable-8.1
Severity: wishlist

Please provide a if-up.d hook for ntpdate and even consider to drop the
init.d script completely. The reason is simple: The correct time to run
ntpdate is not during bootup but as soon as the device is configured.
The initscript has the downside that it is often run before the device
is actually up. More and more the device is configured by
tools like ifplugd, NetworkManager etc. which are run after the ntpdate
initscript or simply take to too long to establish a connection
(wireless wpa connection takes several seconds).

Regards,
Michael
