Thanks for your suggestion.

I assume that you means using a crontab entry to define the exact start
time for this script. I think that this is good for machines that runs
continously but not for the rest.

Triggering it through a crontab entry, the task will not be executed if
the computer is not running at the precise moment.

I prefer to stay on the safe side and use a more flexible tool. IMHO,
it is better to let anacron keeping up with this job.

I suggest edit the script and renice chkrootkit execution rather than
running it with cron.
