I assume that the QML platform module on stable is simply too old and I'm afraid there is not much we can do about this as updating the platform module would involve updating all of Qt. You could ask the Qt maintainers if they have an idea how to address this but I don't think there is. The only possible solution I see is when upstream reduces their version requirement from 1.1 to 1.0. Please note, while I gladly try to support the package on stable, backports packages are not officially supported, so we can't take the full extent of measures to address this problem.
