I modified the source package so that it produces a profanity and a profanity-nox package. The latter does not have X-Dependencies. To the maintainer(s): As I am not experienced in debian packaging you should see this as a proof-of-concept and check it thoroughly before merging. But I can tell that building it works well for me locally and the profanity-nox package is running right now on my VPS which is, of course, headless.
