Team-maintained packages seem to be the norm these days, and it would be wonderful if dch handled this workflow better. Debchange/dch chooses upstream_version-x.y (NMU Debian revision) when one's email address is in neither the Maintainer nor the Uploaders fields. Dch --team will do the right thing for the Debian revision, but the "* Team upload" line it generates shouldn't be used if one of the Uploaders (or Maintainer for weak team attributed package) or will be finalising the changelog and uploading. I wish "dch -r" would detect this case, and that it would add the "* Team upload" line only under the required specific condition. Additionally, I wish "dch -i" would query a configurable list of email addresses for teams that one is part of and DTRT for the Debian revision. The combination of these two things would replace "dch --team". The downside is it doesn't force the contributor to learn about these things, but if they read the documentation and configured the list_of_email_addrs_teams variable then maybe a new contributor would still learn this? No rush, but it would be nice to have!
