Package: emacs21
Version: 21.4a-3
Severity: minor
Hello,
when writing in latex-mode (no auctex)
and having a "verbatim" environment, like this:
\begin{verbatim}
$ ls -l
\end{verbatim}
latex-mode takes this as the beginning of math-mode and does wrong syntax
highlighting / indentation / ... for the rest of the file.
This problem exists for some years now, e.g. you find people posting about
this in newsgroups since 1999, but in the current Debian package, it's
still there :-(
There are workarounds like outsourcing the whole verbatim citation in a new
file and using \verbatiminput, but I always prefer to write small pieces
- like the one I cited above - in my text because they are part of it.
Regards,
Viktor.
