Package: apt Version: 1.8.2 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer,
* What led up to the situation? I noticed that my system was trying to run apt-helper on a daily basis and wanted to know what apt-helper does and peruse descriptions of command line switches and options. * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)? I typed "man apt-helper" in a bash terminal. I also looked in the man page for apt. * What was the outcome of this action? I received the message "No manual entry for apt-helper" * What outcome did you expect instead? I expected the appropriate man page to be opened. -- Package-specific info: -- (no /etc/apt/preferences present) -- -- (/etc/apt/preferences.d/stable.pref present, but not submitted) -- -- /etc/apt/preferences.d/testing.pref -- Package: * Pin: release a=testing Pin-Priority: 795 -- (/etc/apt/sources.list present, but not submitted) -- -- (no /etc/apt/sources.list.d/* present) -- -- System Information: Debian Release: 10.2 APT prefers stable APT policy: (995, 'stable'), (500, 'stable-updates') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 4.19.85 (SMP w/2 CPU cores; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=en_US, LC_CTYPE=en_US (charmap=ISO-8859-1), LANGUAGE=en_US (charmap=ISO-8859-1) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages apt depends on: ii adduser 3.118 ii debian-archive-keyring 2019.1 ii gpgv 2.2.12-1+deb10u1 ii libapt-pkg5.0 1.8.2 ii libc6 2.28-10 ii libgcc1 1:8.3.0-6 ii libgnutls30 3.6.7-4 ii libseccomp2 2.3.3-4 ii libstdc++6 8.3.0-6 Versions of packages apt recommends: ii ca-certificates 20190110 Versions of packages apt suggests: pn apt-doc <none> ii aptitude 0.8.11-7 ii dpkg-dev 1.19.7 ii gnupg 2.2.12-1+deb10u1 ii gnupg2 2.2.12-1+deb10u1 pn powermgmt-base <none> -- Configuration Files: /etc/logrotate.d/apt changed [not included] -- no debconf information
