I feel that the answer is both yes and no. The *packaging* is trivial in my experience - the dependencies of firewalld are fairly small/manageable, and 0.7.2 *seems* to work fine with everything in stable-bpo. However, I have no experience with running Debian test suites and ensuring that all the details are taken care of.
