Package: gs-gpl Version: 8.50-1 Followup-For: Bug #357326 Moi!
As Roger already stated, this bug is a regression in the Debian package because patch 10_powerpc_crash_fix was backed out in 8.50-1. Upstream discusses the problem in http://bugs.ghostscript.com/show_bug.cgi?id=687643, but opted not to fix it for 8.50 because the patch arrived shortly before the release and was deemed 'too scary'. I'd expect an upstream fix in one of the next releases, but for now the Debian patch is still required to keep ppc alive. As this bug has been causing build failures for several packages on ppc already, I'd like to see it fixed as soon as possible and have therefore prepared an NMU of gs-gpl (full diff attached). Please let me know if you disapprove. Otherwise, I intend to upload the NMU tomorrow. Regards, Daniel.
