Package: libcompress-zlib-perl

I am using Sarge 3.1r1 with a 'testing' source listed in
/etc/apt/sources.list. I use amavisd-new and would like to upgrade to
2.3.3 (which requires Compress::Zlib >= 1.35). If I install
libcompress-zlib-perl from testing (or unstable) it will upgrade
perl, libc6 and the remainder of dependencies that have a version
number greater than is supplied with Sarge. This seems excessive
considering the author requires Perl 5.004 and zlib version 1.0.6
or better. The version of zlib1g listed as a dependency is still in
stable so I'm just not seeing the need for versions of Perl or libc6
greater than what is supplied in the stable release. Certainly if I
install Compress::Zlib from CPAN on a newly built Sarge box, it will
not complain or attempt to follow any new dependencies.

I'm sure there may be factors I am unaware of that prompted these
requirements but it would make life a lot easier of these
seemingly unnecessary requirements were not there.
