This is a very longstanding, but minor, bug that I've finally got around to reporting. I did investigate trying to fix but it appeared highly non-trivial. Note that this only affects a verify. A restore gives the correct results. For restore this works as, at the end of the restore, the file has all the attributes applied. But during verify, each attribute 'fails' verification as the EA count on the 'restore' is 1 while on the target file it is N. If a fix isn't possible, it would be nice to have an option to disable EA verification so that the return code of the verify can be used in automatic backup scripts.
