We generally do not know who uses custom profiles, and did not contact
you in advance. Thanks for copying us here.

Sorry about the complications. Indeed, we split tags and checks the
way you described.

The fastest for you would be to emulate 'pkg-js-tools' or
'pkg-perl-tools', both of which resolved similar issues. If the bug
remains open, I will send you a patch.
'pkg-perl-tools' used these commits to address a similar issue:
https://salsa.debian.org/perl-team/modules/packages/pkg-perl-tools/commit/bfa237432097872ff9af45fadbcaba6bd3044db5
https://salsa.debian.org/perl-team/modules/packages/pkg-perl-tools/commit/fa98f03886d068c211779d3481adeed1a971c938
https://salsa.debian.org/perl-team/modules/packages/pkg-perl-tools/commit/d6a79fccb8331f986846b4eb6acdb2f3777c078a
Thank you for your patience with Lintian.
Kind regards,
