Package: xfree86-driver-synaptics Version: 0.14.0-1 Followup-For: Bug #290308
I'm having the same problem as described above. Interestingly, it all worked well until dist-upgrade in testing last Friday morning (18.2.05). After reboot, X won't start any more unless I uncomment # Option "Repeater" "/dev/ps2mouse" in /etc/X11/XF86Config-4, but then I don't get the usual functionality of the synaptics driver. As I'm using udev, makedev missing devices should not be the solution? PLUS, this problem only occurs with Debian stock kernels 2.6.10-1-686 and 2.6.8-1-686, NOT with my minimal custom kernel based on 2.6.8, where everything works as before... ???
