Package: needrestart
Version: 3.4-5
Followup-For: Bug #934479

Also encountering on arm64, with an upgrade of
linux-image-5.2.0-2-arm64 to a newer version:

  $ uname -a
  Linux ponder 5.2.0-2-arm64 #1 SMP Debian 5.2.9-1 (2019-08-18) aarch64
GNU/Linux
  $ ls -l /boot/vmlinuz-5.2.0-2-arm64
  -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 19775344 Aug 21 05:48 /boot/vmlinuz-5.2.0-2-arm64
  $ sudo needrestart
  Scanning processes...
  Scanning linux images...

  Running kernel seems to be up-to-date.

  Failed to check for processor microcode upgrades.

  No services need to be restarted.

  No containers need to be restarted.

  No user sessions are running outdated binaries.

I've had two updates over the last few days where it didn't detect the
newer kernel version.

live well,
  vagrant
