Package: libfreetype6
Version: 2.1.10-2
Severity: normal
The quality of the subpixel antialising decreased significantly after
the latest upgrade of libfreetype6. Please see the difference before [1]
and after [2]. The website is rendered differently and also the fonts in
the menu bar look different, imo significantly worse.
For the record, I have a TFT display and subpixel aliasing (RGB)
enabled.
The changelog mentions that you have applied several patches from
Ubuntu. I have a recent Dapper installation but don't have this decrease
in font appereance there. So I'm not sure what actually causes this quality
loss.
Please revert the changes done in 2.1.10-2.
Cheers,
Michael
