Package: uswsusp Version: 1.0+20120915-6.2 Severity: important Tags: patch Hi,
Using uswsusp after an upgrade from Stretch, it hangs after loading the s2disk image. Last message is: resume: Image successfully loaded I found a report on launchpad [1], telling that it conflicts with plymouth and indeed removing plymouth fixes the problem. Now in Buster, plymouth is pulled-in by the desktop-base package so that I had it installed by upgrade. This, to my mind, makes s2disk unusable on any standard desktop installation (hope I'm wrong…). On launchapd the user provides a quick patch to tell plymouth to quit, see [2]. Would probably be nice to patch it at least at Debian's level since the bug comes from 2010 and we face it in 2019 :) [1] https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/hibernate/+bug/1159205 [2] https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/uswsusp/+bug/816859/comments/9 -- System Information: Debian Release: 10.0 APT prefers stable APT policy: (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 4.19.0-5-amd64 (SMP w/16 CPU cores) Kernel taint flags: TAINT_PROPRIETARY_MODULE, TAINT_OOT_MODULE, TAINT_UNSIGNED_MODULE Locale: LANG=fr_FR.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=fr_FR.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=fr_FR.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages uswsusp depends on: ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.5.71 ii libblkid1 2.33.1-0.1 ii libc6 2.28-10 ii liblzo2-2 2.10-0.1 ii libpci3 1:3.5.2-1 ii libx86-1 1.1+ds1-10.2 Versions of packages uswsusp recommends: ii initramfs-tools 0.133 ii mount 2.33.1-0.1 uswsusp suggests no packages. -- debconf information: * uswsusp/early_writeout: true uswsusp/RSA_key_file: /etc/uswsusp.key * uswsusp/image_size: 0 * uswsusp/snapshot_device: uswsusp/continue_without_swap: true * uswsusp/compress: true uswsusp/resume_offset: * uswsusp/resume_device: /dev/disk/by-uuid/eb7adaac-6f7c-40cd-a542-123165be7b42 uswsusp/no_swap: uswsusp/no_snapshot: * uswsusp/max_loglevel: uswsusp/create_RSA_key: false * uswsusp/encrypt: false * uswsusp/shutdown_method: platform * uswsusp/suspend_loglevel: * uswsusp/compute_checksum: true uswsusp/RSA_key_bits: 1024
