Hi Karl,
here down at Debian we see the following:
auto-pst-pdf.sty needs ifplatform.sty
But ifplatform is in collection-latexextra, and auto-pst-pdf in
pstricks.
I made a git grep seaching for ifplatform in texmf-dist/tex, and found:
