I couldn't reproduce your bug:
bee% gnomevfs-ls . | grep dia
classes-uncompressed.dia (Regular,
application/x-dia-diagram) size 2250 mode 0600
As you can see, your file is seen as a Dia diagram.
Can you please try the same test with the helper gnomevfs-ls from the
libgnomevfs2-bin package?
