This test appears to be failing because it times out.  I was able to
fix this by not passing "-t1" to autogen.  The change that added this
option was

and the comment was "guard against server shell disappearances".
Bruce, would you please explain what this means?

Once I fixed this, autogen still failed to build because error.test
failed with the following messages:
