Does gs -o - -dNODISPLAY <PDF file>
using Ghostscript 9.27, with <PDF file> being a PDF file which you do not succeed to print due to this problem, give you a list of "Page XX" lines for each page in the PDF file (plus some other irrelevant lines)?
