This is inappropriate and goes against at least the first point of the Debian Code of Conduct[0]. Please do not use language like this in any Debian forum. > I am using SysV init and "ifupdown" to configure my workstation. > ... > Since the interface is already configured, "/etc/init.d/dhcpcd" will launch > "dhcpcd" a second time which fails the sanity test, causing the service to > fail. > My suggestion is that if "dhcpcd" is already running, "service dhcpcd start" > should do nothing and "service dhcpcd stop" should kill all instances of > "dhcpcd". SysV is a legacy init, and I don't use it, so I have no way to test /etc/init.d/dhcpcd. Patches welcome :-) > -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- > ... > -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- Please configure your mail client to send attached signatures only, instead of inline. Inline is very noisy and difficult to read. [0] https://www.debian.org/code_of_conduct -- Regards, Scott Leggett.
