I cannot see how this could be possible: the hardware clock is correct and the laptop was shutdown at most for 1-2 hours. I am not sure, but I think that the problem does not happen when it is shut down overnight, only when I commute. There is no NTP daemon: in some locations rdate is started when connecting to the network, but I see from the log that it fails as well because of DNS issues, so it's not changing the clock.
