Package: nsca Severity: wishlist Unfortunately, send_nsca does expect its input in a different format than normal nagios plugins are capable to output. This can be easily remedied by a small wrapper script, but a script feels out of place in the strongly binary-oriented nagios world.
IMO, the easiest way to obtain this feature would be to extend send_nsca to allow a plugin command line on its command line. send_nsca would then execute the plugin as a subprocess and report its findings to the remote host. See discussion started on http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/forum.php?thread_id=9482225&forum_id=8499 As long as upstream doesn't include that functionality, Debian should offer a wrapper script.
