Package: postgresql-server-dev-all Version: 197.pgdg90+1 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer,
I was implementing a new postgres extension package, and following the examples in the pg_buildext man page. Specifically I copied the control.in sample, and along with a project Makefile (commands for which unfortunately are not detailed in the man page) I found that running "pg_buildext controlcheck" (or updatecontrol) fails with the example control.in file because there is not a newline after the "Build-Depends:" line (so there is only one "paragraph" in the file). The error results because of the first grep-dctrl the gencontrol() function returns exit code 1 since it finds no results without the package info in a separate paragraph. This combined with the "set -e" at the top of the file results in pg_buildext failing but without any error logging whatsoever. -- System Information: Debian Release: 9.6 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 4.9.0-8-amd64 (SMP w/8 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.utf8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=en_US.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: unable to detect Versions of packages postgresql-server-dev-all depends on: ii dctrl-tools 2.24-2+b1 ii lsb-release 9.20161125 ii make 4.1-9.1 ii postgresql-common 197.pgdg90+1 ii postgresql-server-dev-10 2:10.4r2ndq1.4-1.stretch+1 ii postgresql-server-dev-11 2:11.1r2ndq1.4-1.stretch+1 ii postgresql-server-dev-9.3 9.3.25-1.pgdg90+1 ii postgresql-server-dev-9.4 9.4.20-1.pgdg90+1 ii postgresql-server-dev-9.5 9.5.15-1.pgdg90+1 ii postgresql-server-dev-9.6 2:9.6.6r2ndq1.4-1.stretch+1 postgresql-server-dev-all recommends no packages. postgresql-server-dev-all suggests no packages. -- no debconf information
