Bill, Here's one of the pics : http://www.europephoto.com/info/dsc_41219.jpg It's one of the pics I took on last weekend. That problem isn't limited to that picture only. I tested jhead on several other pics, and the problem is the same. Moreover, the pics come from my Nikon camera, and I did not change anything on my camera from months now. #echo $JPEGMEM (nothing) #echo $JPEGMEM 1024 I then launch jhead in one directory which contains only 1 picture (the dsc_41219.jpg one): #cat /proc/cpuinfo | grep "model name" && date && jhead -autorot * && date model name : AMD Athlon(TM) XP 2400+ mardi 14 mars 2006, 22:09:50 (UTC+0100) Modified: dsc_41219.jpg mardi 14 mars 2006, 22:10:09 (UTC+0100) 19 seconds is very very long. I used jhead to rotate hundreds of pictures on my 300MHz Thinkpad some time ago. I don't remember jhead being that slow on my Thinkpad, while I'm using jhead on my XP2400+ desktop right now.
