Control: severity -1 serious I am bumping the severity back to serious. It looks like gnome-xcf-thumbnailer only uses gconf to try to register itself as a thumbnailer, but the correct way to do that is with a /usr/share/thumbnailers/*.thumnailer file. That was suggested in the original bug report at https://bugs.debian.org/655465
