AFAIU, the original reporter mentioned a problem on 2.35 and not on 2.28, but probably used reportbug having 2.28 installed. I can confirm the same on testing with 2.39.1+dfsg-1 when trying to paste into Gnome-Terminal. It seems a simple workaround, for me, is to use Ctrl+Shift+INS for Gnome-Terminal, as advised in https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/keepass2/+bug/1010289 Hope this helps.
