/etc/default/zramswap specifies that the number of cores to use can be overridden using the "CORES" environment variable and provides an example using that variable. --- # Specifies amount of zram devices to create. # By default, zramswap-start will use all available cores. #CORES=1 --- However uncommenting the line has no effect as /usr/sbin/zramswap uses "cores" in lower-case to define the number of swap areas to allocate. This can be trivially worked around by overriding the correct variable.
