Package: libnewt0.52 Version: 0.52.20-7 The preinst removes the file /etc/newt/palette.original, but this file is still shipped in the package, causing complaints from "debsums -e" and "dpkg --verify". Assuming that you really want to get rid of it, you probably should remove the last line in debian/libnewt0.52.install.
Another question is whether the now empty /etc/newt directory should still be shipped in the package. I don't know the answer to it. -- System Information: Debian Release: buster/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (101, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 4.18.8-nouveau (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=de_DE.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=de_DE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages libnewt0.52 depends on: ii libc6 2.27-6 ii libslang2 2.3.2-1+b1 Versions of packages libnewt0.52 recommends: ii libfribidi0 1.0.5-3 libnewt0.52 suggests no packages. -- Configuration Files: /etc/newt/palette.original [Errno 2] Datei oder Verzeichnis nicht gefunden: '/etc/newt/palette.original' -- no debconf information
