It's still sort of correct. pre-up/pre-down actions can not be triggered directly by scripts in /etc/NetworkManager/dispatcher.d/. Such actions can be triggered though by placing (or symlinking) a script in /etc/NetworkManager/dispatcher.d/pre-up.d/ or /etc/NetworkManager/dispatcher.d/pre-down.d/ See man 8 NetworkManager I think upstream still considers those pre actions problematic which is why you need to jump through that extra hoop and which is why no such symlinks are created in pre-up.d/ and pre-down.d/ The comment could indeed be updated though. -- Why is it that all of the instruments seeking intelligent life in the universe are pointed away from Earth?
