There was a several weeks (maybe longer) period of time where
unversioned emacs and emacs-goodies-el was staged in experimental.
During this time no issues were identified. Speaking for
emacs-goodies-el, I failed to identify the breaking changes related to
building with emacsen-common 3.0.2; however, these were only revealed
when users who ran mixed emacs_from_testing +
emacs-goodies-el_from_sid encountered issues.

Rob, do you think the fastest way to resolve the issues in testing
would be to fix the issues related to those three packages that are
failing with unversioned emacs in DebCI and are delaying the
migration?

Cheers,
Nicholas
