Hi.
latex and pdflatex now seem to ignore unknown class options.
Compiling
\documentclass{article}[pdftex,whatever]
\begin{document}
Lorem ipsum.
\end{document}
with LaTeX and/or rubber succeeds, and produces a .dvi.
Unless you provide further elements, I suggest that we close this bug.
