Yes, I would allow an NMU. With great encouragement. :) read-edid is orphaned upstream, so I'm not really sure it's worth trying to keep this package around long-term. But until the X server hardware detection stuff is refactored, ripping it out would be a bad idea. Thanks for taking care of this! -- G.
