I am the author of biniki and I confirm that it is just a toy example of the use of the ocaml-odbc library (it is included in the ocaml-odbc source distribution). I have not used it since a long time, but, if I remember correctly, the "base" parameter on command-line is a data source name, which should be found in the file describing odbc data sources (the file depends on which odbc driver you use, see http://home.gna.org/ocamlodbc/configuring.html).
