trayer fails to cross build from source, because debian/rules does not pass cross tools to make. Using dh_auto_build is the easiest way to fix that. Beyond that, the upstream Makefile hard codes the build architecture strip. Stripping during build is bad, because it breaks DEB_BUILD_OPTIONS=nostrip and the creation of -dbgsym packages. Thus I propose exporting the DEVEL variable that disables stripping. Please consider applying the attached patch. Helmut
