Package: fetchmail Version: 6.3.2-2 Severity: important Hi, My /etc/fetchmailrc is empty :
set daemon 180 set postmaster "goneri" set bouncemail set no spambounce set properties "" #poll pop.xxx.fr with proto POP3 timeout 100 # user 'xxx' there with password 'xxx' is # 'goneri' here #poll pop.xxx.fr with proto POP3 timeout 100 # user 'xxx' there with password 'xxx' is 'goneri' # here #poll pop.xxx.fr with proto POP3 timeout 100 # user 'xxx' there with password 'xxx' is # 'goneri' here #poll pop.xxx.fr with proto POP3 timeout 100 # user 'goneri' there with password 'xxx' is 'goneri' here But in /etc/default/fetchmail, START_DAEMON=yes I know, it a bite stupid to stard a daemon for nothing :). When trying to upgrade fetchmail i get: gloria:/home/goneri# dpkg --configure -a Setting up fetchmail (6.3.2-2) ... Starting mail retrieval agent: fetchmailfetchmail: no mailservers have been specified. (failed). dpkg: error processing fetchmail (--configure): subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1 Errors were encountered while processing: fetchmail gloria:/home/goneri# /etc/init.d/fetchmail start Starting mail retrieval agent: fetchmailfetchmail: no mailservers have been specified. (failed). IMO, in this case, fetchmail just have to silently exit.
