Hi Onur Aslan,

just like Mirosław in the bugreport I would like to see a newer version
of vim-youcompleteme and hence ycmd in Debian – so I wonder if there is
anything we can do to help? Is it "just" a matter of time or are you no
longer interested in maintaining them – either would be fine of course,
we should just get this stuff sorted out for the benefit of everyone.

As alioth is about to be decomissioned I took the liberty of moving the
VCS(es) to salsa. As it was in collab-maint before I dropped it into the
Debian group, but we can move it anywhere else if you prefer. Any DD can
give you full access rights to the repo (assuming you aren't a DD
yourself), but feel free to tell me your username there and I will get
to it.

I moved the packaging of ycmd (and vim-youcompleteme) there out of pure
selfishness of course: I wanted to have an easier time forking them. :)
So in a personal fork I did indeed a few changes to the packaging of
both to adapt them to newer upstream versions. I took a few shortcuts
and mine are absolutely not release quality, but perhaps my dabbling can
help you a bit with brushing up the packaging for real.

So, as said: Feel free to drop me (and/or Debian as a whole) a line if
there is something I/we can help you with!

Best regards

David Kalnischkies
