Ok, seems that we are getting there.
Please do the following (as root): If you have an ACPI system (powersave
-U), make sure acpid is installed and running. If powersaved is
currently running (ps ax | grep powersaved) stop it with
/etc/init.d/powersaved stop.
Start powersaved on a console with "powersaved -v 15 -f
/var/run/acpid.socket" if your system supports acpi and "powersaved -v
15" if it's not an acpi system. Now monitor /var/log/syslog via "tail -f
/var/log/syslog". You should get lots's of debug output from powersaved.
If you come this far and powersaved is still running, then it's probably
only a configuration issue (I hope you have read powersaveds
README.Debian and that for newer revisions you have to add users to the
correct group in order to be able to connect to powersaved)
