Control: severity -1 serious As announced [1], we do not intend to release Debian 10 "Buster" with the old libgnome (and related) libraries. As part of this process, I am now raising the severity of this bug.
banshee depends on gconf via libgconf2.0-cil. The source package for libgconf2.0-cil (gnome-sharp2) depends on libgnomeui and other deprecated libraries. Since we are trying to get rid of gconf too, it doesn't seem to make a lot of sense to keep that source package only for its gconf library. Therefore, I am raising the severity of this bug now and will request that banshee and gnome-sharp2 be removed from Testing.
