The glyph for 🐿 (U+1F43F CHIPMUNK) in VL Gothic is not a cute animal but a paper page with a folded corner, a pencil and a message: Dear Sirs Thank you for using vlgothic! The issue occurs in both versions of the font (Gothic/PGothic). Easter-eggs like this should be in the Unicode PUA instead. I've attached a screenshot of it rendered in GNOME character map. Here are examples of what the glyph should look like: https://unicode-table.com/en/1F43F/ -- System Information: Debian Release: buster/sid APT prefers testing-debug APT policy: (900, 'testing-debug'), (900, 'testing'), (800, 'unstable-debug'), (800, 'unstable'), (790, 'buildd-unstable'), (700, 'experimental-debug'), (700, 'experimental'), (690, 'buildd-experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 4.14.0-3-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_AU.utf8, LC_CTYPE=en_AU.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=en_AU.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages fonts-vlgothic depends on: ii dpkg 1.19.0.5 fonts-vlgothic recommends no packages. fonts-vlgothic suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- bye, pabs https://wiki.debian.org/PaulWise
